Who this is for:

This evening is designed for homeschool-curious families who are wondering what homeschooling could look like, how to begin, and what Vermont requires.

Current homeschool families are also welcome to come for networking, encouragement, and clarity.

6:00–6:30 PM — Homeschooling in Vermont: The Basics
A clear overview of how to register for home study in Vermont, what families are responsible for, and common questions about getting started.

7:00–8:00 PM — Round Table Conversations + Local Opportunities

Meet current homeschooling families, ask informal questions, and browse services, groups, classes, co-ops, tutors, and enrichment opportunities available to Vermont homeschoolers.

What we’ll cover:

In Vermont, families submit a Home Study enrollment notice to the Secretary of Education at least 10 business days before beginning home study. Families attest to providing at least 175 days of instruction and maintaining an annual assessment record. Vermont law also lists assessment options including standardized assessment, certified teacher review, parent report with portfolio, online academy grades, or GED evidence.
